Most Calabasas estates we service are inside one of four gated communities: Hidden Hills, The Oaks, Mountain View Estates, or Mulholland Heights. Each has slightly different vendor policies, hours, and approval processes. Here is what you need to know if you live behind a gate and want a mobile detail.
Hidden Hills vendor process
Hidden Hills is the strictest of the Calabasas gated communities. All vendors must be added to the resident's approved vendor list, which is submitted to gate security in advance. The resident gives us their address, gate code if applicable, and confirms our arrival window. Hidden Hills security calls the resident to confirm our visit when we arrive. The whole process takes 24 to 48 hours to set up, so book at least two days ahead. Once we are on your approved vendor list, future bookings clear the gate in 5 minutes.
The Oaks and Mountain View Estates
The Oaks and Mountain View Estates use a more streamlined vendor process. You give the gatehouse our name and date of visit when booking. We arrive with a vehicle identification and ID. They wave us through. Both communities have HOA rules about visible work in driveways, so we tuck our setup as much as possible behind the car. Both communities have water restrictions during drought conditions, so we bring our own water in our service van.
Mulholland Heights
Mulholland Heights uses a code-gate access. The resident shares a temporary access code when scheduling. We type the code at the gate keypad and the gate opens for the work window. Mulholland Heights has the strictest noise rules of the Calabasas communities. We avoid running power equipment before 9am or after 4pm. Polishing and machine work is scheduled within those windows.
Common gated community detail constraints
Most Calabasas gated communities share four common constraints. First, vendor work hours are typically 8am to 6pm weekdays, 9am to 4pm Saturdays, and rarely permitted Sundays. Second, water use restrictions apply during drought declarations, which is most of the year now. Third, some communities require pre-approval of any chemical products used outdoors. Fourth, parking is usually limited to your driveway, not street parking. We arrive in our service van with everything self-contained.
How we operate inside the gates
We bring our own water in 30 to 50 gallon tanks in our service van. We bring our own portable power if your outdoor outlets are limited. We use only EPA-safe, biodegradable detail products that comply with California chemical regulations and most HOA requirements. We work as quietly as possible, especially during early morning slots. We clean up completely before leaving so there is no evidence we were there except a finished car.
Setting up your first appointment inside a gate
For your first detail in any Calabasas gated community, contact us 3 to 5 days before your desired date. We will send you the vendor information your community needs: business name, certificate of insurance, vehicle license plate, technician names. You submit this to your community's vendor coordinator or gatehouse. Once approved, the booking proceeds normally. After the first visit, future bookings are typically clear within 24 hours.
