The streets south of Ventura Boulevard in Encino hide some of the best garage queens in Los Angeles. Bentley Continentals, Rolls-Royce Phantoms, Ferrari 488s, McLaren 720s, Porsche 911 GT3s, Aston Martin DB11s. These cars require detailing approaches that differ significantly from daily-driver care. Wrong products, wrong tools, wrong technique, and you damage something irreplaceable. Here is what we do differently for Encino luxury and exotic clients.
Why exotic cars need different products
Standard automotive detail products are formulated for the average car, which means moderate paint hardness, standard clear coat thickness, and common materials. Exotic cars often deviate from average. Some Lamborghini paint is softer than Tesla soft. Some Pagani uses exposed carbon fibre with specialty clear coat. Rolls-Royce uses thicker clear coat that responds to different polishing approaches. Bentley interiors use leather grades that need specific conditioning. We adapt products per car based on what the manufacturer used and what the car needs.
Premium product lines we use on exotics
For exotic exterior work we use Swissvax for hand-applied carnauba waxes on cars where the warm gloss aesthetic matters. Gyeon for ceramic coatings on cars needing long-term hard protection. Koch-Chemie for cutting compounds and polishes that meet German engineering standards. Sonax for paint correction work on European exotics specifically. P&S, Carpro, and 3D for select interior and decontamination products. We avoid generic detail brands on exotic vehicles even when the marketing claims premium status.
Hand application versus machine work
Most exotic detail work is done by hand rather than machine. Sensitive paint, complex curves, and irreplaceable surfaces benefit from human control. We use machine polishing only on flat panels where the paint condition specifically requires correction. Even then, we use the lowest cut compound that will do the job, and we polish in shorter sessions with frequent quality checks. The detail takes longer this way. The result preserves the car's original condition rather than risking it for speed.
Documenting before, during, after
Every exotic detail starts with comprehensive photo documentation. Pre-existing scratches, chips, swirl marks, water spots, interior wear. We photograph these before we start so there is clear record of what existed before our work. During the detail, we send progress photos to the client. After completion, we document the finished state. This protects both client and detailer. We have not had a damage dispute on an exotic detail because the documentation is thorough.
Insurance and liability for high-value vehicles
We carry commercial liability with high-value vehicle endorsement. Certificates of insurance are available on request, including additional insured naming for your insurance carrier. For vehicles valued above $250,000, we increase coverage limits accordingly. We can provide insurance certificates to your storage facility, transport company, or insurance broker if they need documentation of vendor coverage.
Working with PPF, vinyl wraps, and matte finishes
Many Encino exotics have paint protection film over high-risk areas, satin or matte wraps, or factory matte paint. Each requires specific care. PPF can be polished with care to maintain optical clarity. Matte paint cannot be waxed or polished with standard products. Satin wraps require wrap-rated cleaners only. We carry matte-rated, PPF-safe, and wrap-rated product lines for each scenario. Wrong products on matte will permanently shine the finish.
Pricing structure for exotic detailing in Encino
Exotic and high-value vehicle detailing is quoted per car after inspection. Typical Encino exotic pricing: Premium Detail $200 to $350 depending on car. Club Detail $300 to $500. Ultimate Detail with multi-stage correction $1,500 to $4,000. Ceramic coating $1,500 to $5,000 depending on coating grade. PPF maintenance and matte restoration quoted separately. We do not publish exotic pricing online because it varies too much by vehicle. Honest quotes after in-person inspection.
Storage facility detailing
Many Encino exotic owners store their cars at climate-controlled facilities like Beverly Hills Car Club, BHCC Calabasas, or private facilities throughout the Valley. We perform on-site detailing at most major exotic storage facilities. The work is done in their bay with their permission. We coordinate with facility staff for access and timing. This is convenient for clients who want their car detailed but do not want to drive it home for the appointment.
